Mentoring
We had a GREAT meeting with
Steve Gonzalez regarding mentoring youth.
Plans are developing now.

Foster Care
Projects will be arising with
different Foster Care homes in our area.
You may also be interested in Foster Care or supporting someone who is involved
in this type of work. Please contact Linda Lilyquist if you have questions.
Military
Caroline Taxer or San Diego
M.O.M. (Military Outreach Ministry) met with us. http://www.sandiegomom.org They have a
warehouse on the military base at Camp Elliott, which provides help with free
furniture, children's clothes, diapers, toys and food. Just about anything that
is donated is given to our military families in need.
Our first “project” with M.O.M. will be a July Book Drive! In July we will be collecting children and adult
faith-based books and games for them.
If you have any good to great condition items that you would like to
donate please bring them during July. We will have a box at the welcome counter
to collect them.

ElderCare
The ElderCare team is gearing
up to see what they can be doing to help those
more mature individuals in our community. Some of our ideas are: visiting
isolated seniors in long-term care facilities; helping those in their own homes
with transportation, shopping, etc.; helping specific organization to compile
training and emergency packets. If you are interested in joining our

Tutoring
On July 11 from 9am to 1pm
Gateway will host a Training session to equip people to tutor foster children
with Sophia Lor of the San Diego County Office of Eduation. For more
