June is shaping up to be quite a month here at Gateway Church! In the preceding weeks, the pastoral staff has been working at a fever pitch, and this month, with God’s help, we are beginning to see the first fruits of our labor.
We have eight new classes and/or small groups that are either starting or re-igniting this June! Beginning June 4th, seminars and classes for adults will be offered opposite the regular services on Sunday
mornings.
In the nine o’clock hour, we will begin with “God’s Way of Handling Money” and “Parenting is a Ministry.” For more information on these two classes, check out our Family Life page. In the 10:45 hour, Tony Astolfi will lead a “Freedom in Christ” discipleship class, and I will partner up with Dan Plotner to lead an in-depth review of “The Da Vinci Code” to follow up on Pastor Mark’s sermon series.
These classes are not intended to be a substitute for Sunday church services, but rather an additive option. Please be sure to tell Pastor Mark that I said that, ok? Sunday evening is now home to our latest young couples group entitled “Intended”. If you are newly married or seriously thinking about it, then this group is for you! Kevin and Jamie Swope are hosting this group at their home in Santee.
Several other small groups are beginning new curriculum this month including the Sunday evening group hosted by the McDill’s in El Cajon, the Wednesday study at the Braswell’s in La Mesa, and the Thursday group at the Blair’s back in El Cajon.
On the horizon, two additional home groups will be starting mid summer, and look for the Gateway Gospel Riders to meet up with a group from Mountain View Community Church in Ramona for an epic journey. Combining these new opportunities with our existing compliment of small groups and Bible studies means that we now have more offerings for adults than ever before in the history of Gateway. How cool is that? Remember to check out the Small Groups page for contact information and meeting times.
In His Service,
Pastor Lance
