Gateway Kids 'Have Their Cake and Eat it Too!'

by Sarah Butler - February 14, 2005

From hamburgers to hot dogs and SpongeBob Square Pants to baby Moses in the river, each cake took its own unique and cute form at the Gateway Kid’s Cake Decorating Contest on Friday, February 11th.

cake1.jpgTwenty pairs of children and parents came out (despite the pouring down rain) and transformed their cakes with just about anything you can think of…pretzels, Twinkies, m&m’s, plastic baby Moses’…you name it, and it was on a cake!

There was a lady bug, an army cake, a giant bicycle, a “He’s got the whole world in His hands” cake, a tiny cake, a giant six-layer cake, and a volcano cake, just to name a few!
