Gateway Church

Expanding Our Facility

by Mark Jappe - January 25, 2006

office.jpgThe first focus of our extra giving emphasis, Let It Rain, has been paying down our church debt. This has gone wonderfully, and now we are turning our hearts and resources this year to growing our church, while we continue to pay off the debt. In mid January, we were contacted by our landlord, House Properties, about two things:

1) Custom Decal, our facility’s neighbor to the South, is moving out. We are happy about this decision, as the fumes emitted from their production causes annoying odors that have at times caused us to close our church doors until it dissipates. The smell from this company has inhibited our growth, so we see Custom Decal’s exit as an answer to our prayers.

2) House Properties management team has asked if we are interested in Suite 103 in the building North of Gateway Church. It is 1900 square feet and perfect for real office space. The trustees have met and have discussed this matter, and if we choose this option, the cost would be within our budget. This would allow us to expand our crowded foyer and provide good and appropriate conference, office, and storage space. God has blessed us again.

More space does not mean more people, yet the possibilities are so much better. With additional useful space, there is more potential for growth. We also want to passionately continue to minister to the lost and broken and see God use our church body in every way.

Please pray for me as I will be gone for 2 weekends, preaching and teaching in India and Nigeria. Pray not only for me but also for the others that are going. We are not just asking that you pray specifically for our safety and for our effectiveness overseas, but that we will come home more focused, more renewed, and more in touch with God than ever before. Thank you all at Gateway Church for allowing me to help build His kingdom all over this world. I have never been around more generous, loving, and caring people. Thank you.

In Christ,
Pastor Mark
