"Joshua said it first: ‘As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.’ As men of this church stand up for Jesus in their homes, lives will be changed forever. Gateway Men's Ministry helps to reinforce this truth to the leaders of this fellowship through Bible study, prayer and the sharpening of one another. My hope and prayer is that you will give this ministry a try, linking yourself to other men that are making a difference." --Pastor Mark Jappe
One of the most important reasons to have a men's ministry group is to make men's lives more productive, having meaning and purpose. Men represent a tremendous, greatly untapped resource to assist the church in changing and influencing our world for Christ.
A balanced men's ministry represents four biblical mandates:
Evangelizing men to salvation and church membership.
Establishing men to spiritual maturity.
Equipping men for ministry.
Extending men on mission.

GATEWAY MEN'S MINISTRY INFORMATION
The 2008 Gateway Men’s Ministry (GMM) Team is building off of a strong 2007 showing. We had “high water” marks in attendance for the Baptism by the Bay Horse-shoe Tourney and the Men’s Summer Retreat. These efforts did not go without a lot of man hours to create, develop, transport, dig/pound, manage, and schedule by many men to make it all possible. Now that we have not only built the wheel and done some refinements I want to again thank those who helped in those tasks. Thank you for your time and energy.
Going Deeper
Our 2008 building effort has been under self-imposed scrutiny since the end of our Pine Valley retreat. We wanted to keep up the pace and even intensify certain areas for this upcoming year. One such area we felt needed to be addressed was encouraging the guys to go deeper in there reading of the Word. We also wanted to have a system that enables interested men of the church to find a role to play in the overall support ministry we are geared to have.
Dennis Smith, Randy Ford, and Steve Lilyquist encourage those who have not made the decision to read through the Bible this year to join the rest of us. The GMM leadership feels this is the baseline activity in developing our member and ministry base.
Sharing With Others
Our calendaring was developed for the purpose of having GMM develop a venue in which you can not only read God’s Word, but also have the opportunity to share with others on a regular basis. GMM chooses to find ways to allow God to bring personal blessings into your life (see below for more information).
For those wanting to take an active support role in our ministry, we are developing a system of inclusion for all those that see the value and express an interest in the Men’s Ministry.
Doing Ministry
There is a lot on the calendar this year to spur you on and spark your interest. Please be in prayer for all of the activities throughout the year to see what you might participate in and those things you would like to help with.
We want to hear from the men in our church. We are devoted to reaching out to all ages … from the college age to the Builders of our church.
