J-Walk is the high school ministry at Gateway. Primarily, "We are here to passionately follow Christ, risking our lives for God and others" - and our leadership and students strive to live this out. There are several key opportunities for our students to worship, grow deeper, serve, and have fun--because there is nothing boring about following Christ.
All high school students are invited to join us at any and all of these opportunities:
Sundays @ 9:00am:
Sunday mornings @ 9:00am, J-Walk has CORE, a focused study with a regular small group. While parents are at Sunday School, our students get together with friends and their small group leader to deeply explore God’s Word.
J-Walk Wednesday @ 7:00pm:
We all need a mid-week pick-me-up, and Wednesday nights are our chance to charge up and focus regardless of where the week has taken us. Come to the Gateway for great time together, amazing worship, and a challenging time of discussion and teaching-- you don’t want to miss Wednesdays!
Events, Retreats, Ministry, Mission Trips, and Camps:
There are a ton of other ways our students live out the faith together. Just about every month we have a get together to have fun with each other, and friends are strongly encouraged to attend. Check our calendar for what’s coming up. We also strongly encourage and equip our students to serve—both inside and outside the church. J-Walkers are serving throughout the church—at AWANA, as ushers, in our children’s ministry, and at J-Walk, BUT we teach the importance of serving friends and family as students are THE ambassador of Christ in their circle of influence. J-Walk also regularly takes part in mission trips, retreats, and camps-- any opportunity for our students to draw closer to the Creator of the universe who knows each and every one of them intimately.
